Asbjørn – Berlin Sessions

‘Bones Bad Bones’, released October 30th last year from Asbjørn’s album ‘Sunken Ships’ is a real gem of Danish pop and he proves how brilliant he is at intimate live performances. Mixing Nordic melancholia with post-dubstep details that sometimes recall James Blake, all combined with an indisputable pop flair à la Robyn, Asbjørn offers a distinct take on what pop music should sound like in 2013. It should be immensely danceable (like enticing first single The Criminal), yet immaculately written, with codas, minutiae and variations more likely to be found in classical music.
